Rachel is NOT scared to mix it up, yet still manages to look streamlined. It’s a case of knowing how to elongate your figure, while using darker shades to pull it all together. A shrunken jacket teamed with flared pants- perfect. An oversized fur gilet with skinny jeans- love. She is the master.
Most style icons advise you to look in the mirror before leaving the house, and take one accessory off. I’m not sure Rachel has heard this ethos, and if she has, she chooses to do the opposite. It works because her clothing is generally in simple, block colours, and her makeup understated.
The word I think of when it comes to Rachel’s makeup is bronzed- and this look can easily pull off a striking lip shade, or a smoky eye. By sticking to one strong element, and keeping the rest of your look glowing and natural, you’ll have a glamourous look too take you anywhere.
It’s extremely rare to see Rachel without a pair of oversized sunnies and a retro-inspired hat. They finish of an outfit, as well as hiding a multitude of sins eg. bad hair days, dark circles...not that she ever seems to have these. Play around with different styles- once you find "The One"- you'll know.
Rachel doesn’t let any conventions stop her from rocking her heels. I personally found that trying to push a pram in these bad boys was like an extreme sport, but maj snaps to her for persevering- and at least it’s something to hold onto for balance!
