I'm sure that as MUO members, you can relate to the meme above. Even before I was a beauty blogger, one of my favourite things to do is amble around the Farmers beauty department. I could easily, EASILY spend an hour (or more) in there checking out all the the new products, grabbing products that I'd seen you guys raving about, and of course, swatching up an absolute storm. It is a REALLY good time, and even though my boyfriend really doesn't get it, I've told him, "it's my JOB", (hehe) -so he knows that when I'm in Farmers, I'm going to be awhile. Bless him. Even getting the Farmers beauty catalogue in the mail is a cause of major excitement to me; I have to read it with a pen in hand while circling all the makeup, skincare, haircare and nail polish I "need". I know you've all been there.
I’m not going to lie- being a beauty blogger means that I have to use a huge range of products every day, so it can be hard to whittle down the essentials. However, once I sat down and thought about it, I realised that there are actually several products that I reach for every day- and would be fairly lost without. Have a read and see if we share the same essentials- I’d love to hear what yours are!
~ A beautiful body wash ~
I’ve never been much of a morning person, as my past flatmates will attest to. No one used to even bother talking to me until I’d had a coffee. Nowadays, I’m not AS bad, but I still need a boost when I first wake up. If you’re like me in the AM, try using an invigorating body wash- preferably one with uplifting citrus notes. Try Trilogy Botanical Body Wash to put a smile on your sleepy dial.
~ A smoothing hair serum ~
My hair is pretty unruly at the best of times, so a quality hair serum is a must. I prefer serums that actually treat my hair as well as styling, and even though they do tend to cost a little more- it’s worth it. Moroccanoil Hair Treatment is my go-to everyday.
~ A deodorant that I actually trust ~
I have tried MANY deodorants in my time, and it’s incredibly hard to find one that covers all the bases. I’m a real tee shirt girl- and thank goodness Rexona Clinical Protection gives me the confidence to actually wear my fave grey tees...without having to keep my arms stapled down to my sides. It smells good, does exactly what it says it will, and is a huge essential for me
~ A moisturiser that hydrates all day long ~
My skin is dry….so dry...and it takes a super duper moisturiser to keep my face under control all day. It needs to be extremely hydrating or my makeup ends up looking like a disaster by lunchtime. Lately I can’t go past Aspect Dr Reservatrol for a perfect moisturising base that LASTS.
~ An eyelash conditioner~
I apply this religiously every single day whether I’m wearing makeup or not! Because really, who doesn’t want lush, full lashes? Revitalash has been part of my must-have routine for over a year now, and I wouldn’t try anything else.
~ A brow taming product ~
I know I said my hair was unruly, but my eyebrows are unruly times a million. I’ve tried gels, powder, kits- and even hairspray, but my holy grail brow product is Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade. It’s essential!
