As we talked about in Part 1, winter takes a real toll on your skin- so treat yourself by starting to use a beautiful face mask once or twice (or thrice) a week. I have given all the products below a good test drive, & if you'd like more info on how to find the right mask for your skin type, check out this post over here!
When I first read about The Body Shop Drops of Youth Bouncy Sleeping Mask, I wanted to try it simply because I loved the sound of it- BOUNCY. I was pretty stoked to find out that not only the product is legit bouncy (& very fun to use, by the way), but left my SKIN bouncy-feeling. It's an overnight mask, which I love, because there's nothing better than waking up with lovely skin, & you only need a tiny amount for it to be effective- perfect!
Another lovely overnight mask I've tried is the aptly named Kiehl's Ultra Facial Overnight Hydrating Mask. It contains all the good stuff such as glycerin & urea, which are both proven to boost hydration, and honestly, the tub is HUGE. It'll definitely last you through winter, even if you indulge a couple of times a week! If you have problems with dry skin like I do, this guy is perfect, Going overseas? This would be incredible for use during a long flight!
Love coffee AND want smooth, soft skin? The new scrub from Lush, the Cup O' Coffee fresh face mask will blow your mind. I feel like it's perfect for those of you with oily/combination skin types; it contains kaolin (brilliant at drawing out impurities), fair trade vanilla absolute, roasted cocoa extract, as well as the all-important coffee infusion! If you're a coffee lover with dry/sensitive skin, you can still indulge because it's also a body scrub- LOVE!!!
If your skin struggles to cope with exfoliating products, the Aspect Gold Fruit Enzyme Mask is perfect because it is SO gentle. It contains pineapple, cranberry and papaya; as well as an incredible infusion of Vitamin A, B, C, green tea, aloe vera and chamomile. It has a gel-like texture, which turns into a liquid when applied with wet fingertips- and then starts to ball up- sounds odd, but this is when you know it's working to exfoliate any dead skin build up.
Wanting to give your skin a solid boost of vitamins? The Dermalogica Multivitamin Power Recovery Masque is a saviour for stressed out winter skin. Packed full of vitamin A, vitamin E, vitamin C, AND vitamin F, I use this product when my skin is looking/feeling particularly dull/dehydrated for an almost instant pick me up. Usually after a big night out, if I'm honest. It's super rich, super creamy, and just an all round winner for anyone with troubled (and/or aging!!!) skin.
Speaking of aging skin- the Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Overnight Firming Mask is a god send. Even if you're unhappy with a couple of fine lines, you'll love it- it's not just for people of my ripe age ;) Another overnight mask, it works on the principle that your skin goes into natural repair mode as you sleep. It claims to lock in hydration for 8+ hours, & I'm happy to say that I DO wake up with firmer, smoother skin, making it a tonne easier to apply makeup. Love love love.
Tell me what your favourite face masks are- I always want to try more! Next up in part 3? I talk about facial oils & serums- yummmm!
