We talked about my medical history, my ancestry, my skin habits, and my current skincare regime, as well as so many other variables- it's all incredibly thorough, and takes one hour. Then after removing my makeup (using Aspect Dr Deep Clean Facial Cleanser, which I have since become addicted to), it was time to out my face in the VISIA!
I can hear you asking what on earth a Visia is, and you'd be forgiven for not knowing what on earth it is and wondering if it hurts. It doesn't hurt, it's a skin analysis scanning system which is used all over the world. It can be used for a myriad of things, but I was there to get an up close (VERY close) look at my skin.
Dramatically illustrates the damaging effects of excessive sun exposure to the skin.
Examines the skin for wrinkles, spots, pores, texture, bacteria and UV spots"
Here are the products that I have been trying (and the order in which I use them):
- Aspect Dr Multi B Plus Serum: Vitamin B is ridiculously hydrating, and works as a booster for whatever other products you layer on top of it. This product also smells incredible, as WELL as being active- best of both worlds ;)
- Aspect Dr Active C Serum: Vitamin C is an awesome antioxidant, something crucial for all skin types- regardless of age. Antioxidants protect the skin from ageing, fighting off free radicals like nobody's business.
- Aspect Dr Exfol A Plus Serum: I only use this in the evening, because it is a retinol product- you shouldn't wear this in the sun. Retinol increases the rate of cell turnover, which in turn keeps your skin supple and moisturised. You probably wouldn't need this type of product until your mid 20's, but chat to your skin therapist about it.
- Aspect Hydra Shield SPF 15: A product that I obviously use only at night time- this is actually a moisturiser with SPF 15. It's so nice because it's lovely and lightweight, perfect to wear underneath makeup- with NO white streakiness.
I've been using these products since December, and I swear to goodness my skin has never been better. I love waking up in the morning with soft skin, and my boyfriend quite often begs me to let him use them because he loves how they make his skin feel and look. Don't tell him I told you guys that, but it's a fact. I'm really excited to go back to The Face Place and see Lauren again- I want to put my face in the Visia to see what a difference my new regime has made!
If you haven't been to The Face Place before, a full skincare assessment will cost $99 (it's free for existing clients)- and it's worth every cent. You'll find out exactly what you need and what you don't- all in a beautiful, warm, professional environment. Book an appointment- you'll love it, and your skin will love you for it.
You can purchase Aspect Dr products online from The Face Place after you’ve had your comprehensive Skin Consultation (WOF) or in store at their Britomart Clinic.
