- Mix an illuminating tint such as MAC Strobe Cream, Lush Feeling Younger or L'Oreal Paris Lumi Magique with your favourite moisturiser to make your skin glow!
Now that the days are getting warmer, I'm moving on from my usual matte makeup base and leaving it behind for a glowing, dewy finish. This look is both on trend and easily achieved, and I've compiled some of my top tips so you can join me in getting your glow on this summer.
Exfoliate your skin prior to makeup application to ensure a smooth, bright base. I'm loving Trilogy Gentle Facial Exfoliant, Aspect Skincare Fruit Enzyme Mask & Lush Ocean Salt.
Opt for a light reflecting foundation (or BB cream) with a medium coverage- you can add extra coverage if needed with a concealer. We’re aiming for a fresh look- not a cakey one! My current faves are Estee Lauder Perfectionist Foundation, L'Oréal Lumi Magique Foundation & MAC Mineralize Foundation.
Be aware that you will need to matte out certain areas of your face e.g. underneath the cheekbones, the jaw line, the sides of the nose, and the sides of your face. Use a matte setting powder like Ben Nye Luxury Banana Powder (Kim K’s fave!), Australis Finishing Powder, or theBalm Sexy Mama Translucent Powder.
Highlighting products are our friends- but only in specific places. Lightly highlight the tops of the cheekbones, the center of the nose, the chin, and the cupids bow- and make sure it’s all blended out softly. You can’t go wrong with MAC Cream Color Base in Hush, theBalm Mary Lou Manizer, or Guerlain Meteorites.
Spritz on your favourite setting spray or facial spray to finish off, and you’re good to glow, lady! The ones I have in rotation are Oasis Hydrating Tropical Tonic, Plantae Hydrate Rose Essential Water, and MAC Charged Water.
