-What is your skin care regime, and which products you use and why?
My skin care regime is the furthest thing away from a regime, so calling it a regime is a little ironic, I suppose. But, due to my carefree (lazy) nature, I rid of my makeup using Simple makeup wipes, and then slather my face with Clinque night time moisturizer at night. And in the morning I cleanse, and every couple of days I exfoliate.
-Do you take any health supplements to help with skin/hair/nails?
Does wine count? But in all seriousness, does it? I digress; I always drink at least 2 litres of water a day, and I also have 1 or 2 large glasses of ‘green juice’ in the mornings. I juice celery, spinach, carrots, parsley, silverbeet, kiwifruit and lemon. It may sound frightful, but the acidity in the lemon cuts through the vege taste. I’m addicted to them! Other than that I’m a pretty simple girl, and don’t take any supplements. I quite often start taking fish oil tablets, but then forget, but that happens to everyone, right?
-What are your favourite makeup products and why?
I love MAC BB cream to prime my skin first, it makes my foundation go on smoothly and stay put. It also smooth’s the out fine lines that have magically appeared on my visage recently. I use MAC Studio Sculpt. My skin is a rare colour making it difficult to get a foundation match – MAC have the best range of colours and I love the creamy, full coverage of Sculpt. I swear by MAC’s Prep and Prime Highlighter. It’s great to use under my eyes as I naturally have dark under eye circles, and naturally I’m always tired, mostly because I’m naturally out a lot, mostly because when I’m out it’s at night and naturally this makes me tired. Apart from that I chop and change a lot of my products, because, like most girls I’m a sucker for marketing “Get 50 times longer lashes” – works every time. But I’ve recently discovered a love for Clinique Chubby Conditioning Lip Sticks and I must admit I have about 30 MAC lipsticks, just because I love their colours. -Do you have any makeup tips/tricks you swear by? Highlighter! I have a few different colours to use on different occasions. I highlight my brow bone, my cheek bones, and put a thin line down the centre of my nose (this makes appear slightly thinner) and at the bow of my lips (this helps lips look fuller and more defined.) For during the day I use a less shimmery peachy toned highlighter, and for a more amped up evening look I’ll use a gold or silver based one depending on what kind of makeup route I’ve gone down. Also I’m pretty good at doing cat eyes with liquid eyeliner – just thought you should know.
-What are your favourite hair products and why?
I love BIG sexy hair. So the top products I use are Sebastion Fierce Hair Spray – it has amazing hold with out all the crunch that comes from some hair sprays. And Kevin Murphy Powder Puff is a talc product that you shake into the roots of your hair to give CRAZY volume. It comes in a small ball-shaped container; chuck it in your handbag and you’re good to go. Boys will be dropping like flies around you.
-What are your favourite fragrances and why?
At the moment I’m wearing DKNY Apple. I read somewhere that you know you’ve found the right scent for you when you get lots of complements when you wear it. And one time recently, this creepy guy in a bar sniffed me as I walked by and gave me the thumbs up – I think I’ve got something good going on.
-What/who are your beauty inspirations/icons?
If you asked me this question two months ago I would have struggled to come up with an answer. But now it’s easy. All the gorgeous girls on this page; I’ve found huge amounts of inspiration and wisdom from this group. I’m now a complete advocate for coconut oil and some could even say I’m an expert on the ins and outs of YouShop.
-Describe your makeup look in 3 words -
Fun, carefree and sassy.
-Any last words of wisdom?
I’ve meet a million (literally) girls who are so gorgeous on first glance, yet they turn out to be absolute bitches. It truly amazes me how, in this instance, a girl that I initially was in awe of, suddenly becomes ugly. Beauty truly comes from inside. If you have a beautiful personality it will shine through your pores and excel the way others positively perceive you. Be yourself, be nice to others, but most importantly, be nice to yourself.
