What is your skincare regime and which products do you use and why ?
I really try my best to take care of my skin as much as I could. I’ve always believed in that “better skin = less makeup’. I use a different range of products for different purposes. I went through a real bad stage battling with teen acne , and trust me I’ve tried pretty much every product on the market to treat it , until one day I found my HOLY GRAIL product which is the “Dermalogica Clean Start – bedtime for breakouts” . It contains “Salicylic Acid” which is really good for treating acne/ prone skin. Then I use the Clarins White+ range to lighten and fade out all my acne scarring, the serum from the range is absolutely stunning !
Do you take any health supplements to help with skin/hair/nails?
I haven’t really taken any supplement for my body, as I find it pretty weird and unnecessary (not offence to the people who does). First of all I believe that healthy eating and dieting can “beat” any sort of supplements, as it’s the most natural way of add nutrients into our bodies. Why would I go take tablets when I can just eat healthy (just my opinion of course ). But in saying that I wouldn’t mind trying some supplements when I get to the stage where I might need to.
What are your favourite makeup products and why?
Its so hard to pick just 5 , because there's honestly so many awesome products out there !! But here are my top 5 of the list.
“1. Napoleon Pedis Auto Pilot – Pre Foundation Primer
It really is my HOLY GRAIL + GO TO primer , not because I work for the company but because it really is amazing. I keep finding myself going back to it everytime I try something new. Its so smooth and lightweight, your skin instantly feels so much more radiance. Its 100% oil, alcohol and paraben free, so its suitable for ALL skin type even sensitive. I used it not just on myself but its also my fav primer to use for my freelancing work. MUST HAVE !!!
“2. Nars Blush – Gina
Its honestly the most gorgeous blush colour EVER !! Suitable for anyone with light to tan skin tone with any kind of undertone. Its my absolute TO GO blush when I don’t know what colour to use for certain types of looks. Its definitely not a pinky blush but it’ll really bring out that natural radiance of your skin , it will instantly brighten and bring live back to your skin !! STUNNING !!
“3. MAC Lipstick – Russian Red
The lipstick that SAVES THE DAY !! Honestly don’t know what I’m gonna do without it. Such an intense red, suitable for any skin tone/undertone. Matte finish (but NOT drying) gives your lips that velvety, luxurious look. Goes with any types of look, whether it’s a easy classic winged-liner or a seductive smokey eye…… MUST MUST MUST HAVE !!!
“4. Clarins Waterproof Eyeliner
The eyeliner that I SWEAR BY !! I’ve got some craaaaaazy oily eyelids , usually I just don’t even bother with pencil liners (they all just smudge, even the ones who says WATERPROOF/SMUDGEPROOF !!! ). It wasn’t until I discovered this “badboy” which totally changed my views on pencil liners. First of all it goes on SO smoothly, also its extremely pigmented. Its truly a LONG-WEARING eyeliner !! it stays put all day (even with my oily eyelids), I see no signs of smudging or fading of colours by the end of the day. And because of how pigmented it is, you don’t even need to use much. AWESOME STUFF!!
“5. Yves Saint Laurent – Touche Eclat (#1.5)
I’m sure we’ve all heard about this product before, the one and only and still to this day (in my opinion) the best skin highlight/illuminator !! I love the texture of this product, its very lightweight but super effective, I even use it on top of my powdered face throughout the day and it will not crease a bit. Within a few “clicks” your skin will appear brighter and more radiance. Its your skins “life saver” especially after a crazy night out ( haha ;)). Must Have in my overnight bag FOR SURE !!!
Do you have any makeup tips/ tricks you swear by?
YES!! I do have a few tips n tricks that I can share with everyone
If you’re going to do dark eyes , its best to do your foundation after you’ve done the eyes. Dark eyeshadow fall-outs can be really difficult to clean up when it has grabbed on to your foundation.
Your ring-finger IS the best tool that you can ever have for under-eye concealing, the warmth of the finger breaks down and softens the texture of the concealers, makes it easier to glide onto the skin. (just make sure that your hands are cleansed & sanitised)
Fake lashes makes a huge difference !! If you got that extra minute in the morning before you rush out of the door , STICK SOME LASHES ON !! It will instantly spice up your look, and make those eyes of your pop a lot more.
If you don’t have a neutral toned blending colour for the eyes , just use your face powder. Its very natural and it’ll save you a few $$$.
What are your favourite hair products and why?
1) I love this hair wax called the “Gatsby”. It’s by a Japanese brand and its very popular in Asia. Its not like the usual hair wax, the texture is almost like a melted rubber. Non grease at all , super hold and it smells delish.
2) TRESemme Salon Finish hair spray . Its incredibly cheap and affordable but it can definitely compete with some of the salon standard hairsprays. It really holds my hair in place all day long without making my hair feel heavy at all. And also it smells amazing !!
3) L’Occitane Volumateur Hair Mask. It’s awesome for a person who has real flat hair. After using your hair will feel amazingly soft and bouncy. Always a must use if I’m going out or if I just wanna treat my hair with something nice.
What are your favourite fragrances and why?
I have quite a few fragrances that I really like e.g. Flower by Kenzo (EDT) , CHANEL - No’5 (EDP), Elie Saab (EDP) , Hermes – Un Jardin Sur Le Nil (EDT)…… But out of all my fragrances, my FAVOURITE will have to be my Chanel- Coco Mademoiselle (EDP). Its so classic , very feminine and sexy. Perfect for all occasions. My hands down perfume of all time !!
What/who are your beauty inspirations / icons?
What inspires me ? I’d say everything I get inspired everyday by different things, it could be as simple as the sunlight that shone through my window in the morning. A freshly bloomed flower on the road side ……
My beauty icons will have to be the classic legendary Audrey Hepburn and the modern fierce queen Tyra Banks. They’ve both inspired me in many different ways. They’re both very different from each other, but they’ve both taught me something in common, which is CONFIDENCE…something that we all need. I personally believe that confident is the first step to everything, I wouldn’t be where I’ am now as a person if I didn’t have enough confident in me.
Any last words of wisdom?
No amount of makeup can mask an ugly heart (Kevyn Aucoin). Be true to yourself and the people that are around you , there’s nothing worse than being someone else that’s not YOU . Xxxxx
