One of the ultimate indulgences we can partake in is applying a face mask, and curling up somewhere cosy while it does its magic. Of course, you can do this at any time of year- but as you know, I have sensitive skin that gets ravaged by the cold, so it's particularly awesome in winter. Especially now that I've found a face mask that is targeted directly at my cold weather skin issues- redness and sensitivity. Thanks to the Dermalogica UltraCalming Relief Masque, I know how I'll be spending my nights in.
This product is so deliciously creamy, that not only does my skin feel soothed and placated straight away- but also means you really only need a small amount to cover your entire face. One tube will easily get you through winter and beyond, seeing as it is 75 ml sized. If I could do maths I would estimate the number of uses you'd get out of it...but I can't, so I'm just going to say you'll get MANY uses. Side note- if anyone can tell me approximately how many applications you'd get by writing it in the comments below, I'll send you a prize.
I like to use this masque after cleansing- OR if I've been out in the freezing wind, which is generally when I need it most. It's such a treat to apply, especially in sensitive, flared up areas which for me is generally around my chin. It contains all manner of helpful ingredients:
- Collodial Oatmeal soothes angry skin
- Algae, Mugwort and Mushroom Extract help to minimise redness
- Oat and Ginger Actives with Bisabolol and Boerhavia Root Extract calm your skin; giving it instant relief- and starts to repair it and make it stronger for next time
Don't forget that this has absolutely no artificial colours or fragrance- both of which can aggravate your skin even more- not a good thing.
I like to leave it on for ten minutes at the very least- but you can leave it on for longer if you've just gotten too warm and comfortable on the couch- I understand. There's no reason to rush it, you're giving yourself a treat, so make sure you give the masque plenty of time to activate. It's gentle enough that you can use it 2-3 times a week if you wish, and because it HAS gone down in price by 15%, you may as well go nuts. Another use for it that I really love is that you can use it as a spot treatment for other dry areas on your body- like on your hands and legs- I imagine this would help eczema sufferers immensely.
