If you weren't already swayed by the insanely beautiful bottle, you'll be sold when you smell the latest offering from Valentino. Valentina Assoluto is a white floral fragrance (my fave); has top and middle notes of bergamot, peach. tuberose, vanilla and jasmine, then settles down to a soft cedar & patchouli base. At first it's definitely more of a fruity scent on me, but the dry down was perfection. If you love super-feminine fragrances (and beautifully designed packaging), you must try this!
I've been trialing this mask from Manuka Doctor for a few weeks now, and it truly is fantastic- for you AND Mum. Don't be nervous about the bee venom (unless you're allergic to bee stings, obviously)- all you can feel from this is a slight tingle on your face whilst the mask is on. Once removed, your skin feels like A NEW FACE. All plump, smooth, and as Courtney likes to say, VERY SPRINGY. Something I appreciate is that you only need to use a small amount to cover your whole face, so I can see this lasting me for ages- if I stop using it every few days, that is. it's gorgeous, and worth every cent.
I've been a huge fan of the treats available from Edible Blooms since Nicola sent me some Cake Pops last year (bless), and I'm fairly certain that this is the most awesome edible bouquet I've ever seen! If your mum isn't so much into makeup or skincare, this is a fantastic option. It contains a bottle of Lindauer Fraise Strawberry Sparkling Wine, and 18 (18!!!!) chocolates- and is wrapped and delivered for you. It looks awesome and it is awesome- I REALLY hope my son sees this before the weekend. He's 4, but you never know
Does Lush ever disappoint when it comes to gifting? I think not. The new Mother's Day range is already selling quickly, and for good reason. The pricing is excellent, with goodies starting from $5.90- perfect if you're unable to spend too much, but still want to treat your mama. My top picks are the Yummy Mummy Shower Gel (pictured above) and the Yummy Mummy Body Conditioner- they contain geranium oil, tonka absolute & Brazilian orange oil. Your skin is left SO soft thanks to the seaweed extract, and you'll smell amazing- all strawberry-ish and delicious. Perfection.
Jewellery can be tricky to buy for people, because everyone's tastes vary so much- but the range available from Charlotte Lane Clothing takes the guesswork out. I've bought several pieces already- all in gold (but the majority of pieces are also available in silver and rose gold), and have been wearing them to death! The next treasure I have my eye on is the gold bracelet above- it's unique, but classic at the same time. AND- the best news? They're on sale right now- just in time for Mother's Day...you guys could be matching, awww!
NZ winemaker Allan Scott is amazing. Why? His wife loves bubbles, and so he created this gorgeous Brut NV for her...and gave it her middle name, Cecilia. I love the inspiration, and I love this sparkling wine. It's a blend of pinot noir and chardonnay grapes, and tastes perfectly festive- crisp, but delicate at the same time. Peash and I drank this with way too much brie (our weakness), but it would also be perfect with any type of fresh seafood (think pan seared scallops) or an antipasto platter. I admit I drank this as opposed to giving it to my mum, so I had to dash to Glengarry's to get another...if you prefer a Rosé or a Vintage, the range also includes these. You (and mum) will love!
Do something lovely for your mum this Mothers Day, and take her in to an Elizabeth Arden counter to get colour matched for their newest foundation, Flawless Finish Perfectly Satin. I've been on a new foundation spree this year, and this is WAY up there in my favourites. The finish is matte- but not all cakey like some matte formulations can be. Basically, your skin looks airbrushed. It also lasts like crazy (24 hours apparently, but I can't recall the last time I stayed up for 24 hours- and if your mum does this, then fair play to her), and prevents shine. Trust me, it's excellent- and an excellent gift!
