Do you love exquisite, girly packaging, caramel scents, & over the top luxury? Then you NEED to go and check out Viktor & Rolf BonBon Couture. Released earlier this year, this is the sexier, more luxurious version of the original....and it is SO YOU. With top notes of mandarin, neroli oil and peach, creamy middle notes of orange blossom,Sambac jasmine, & caramel, & base notes of sandalwood and patchouli, with vanilla and blonde tobacco . you'll be smelling like a goddess all summer long. This white floral/caramel fragrance is one you should be dropping major hints for this Christmas ;)
This time of year has the potential to really take it out of us....and it can show in our skin! I know it definitely shows in mine. I'm on my second jar of the Energie de Vie Sleeping Mask from Lancôme- and I don't see myself ever stopping using it! I put it on just before bed, and leave it on overnight (don't worry, it absorbs like a dream)- and I wake up looking ALIVE! My skin is plump, smooth, hydrated, and glowy absolutely every time I use this mask- I don't 100% guarantee many things, but I can guarantee you this. It works! Please, please try it- you'll never look back.
No one does a Christmas collection quite like Lush does- every single year the products seem to get bigger, better, and six million times more beautiful. 2016 is no exception, and it was unbelievably hard to try and narrow down my favourites :O But- here we go. I loveee the Golden Wonder Bath Bomb because of how happy & uplifting the scent is- think sweet orange oil, zesty lime, & cognac! The Santasaurus Bubble Bar was a HUGE hit with Micah- that kid has never had so much fun in the bath before (& he's begging me to buy more). I was rapt to see the return of the candy floss-scented Snow Fairy not just in shower gel formula...but a divine body conditioner- OBSESSED! It's not too late to dash in store to nab these, but be quick- they're limited edition!
Everyone knows that I'm always down to try a new serum- particularly if they involve brightening the skin. Who doesn't want brighter, more radiant skin?! I was sent the Societe Brightening Serum several months ago, and I've been using it with great joy ever since. Essentially, it's meant to target dark spots, pigmentation & discolouration- none of which I have CRAZY amounts of admittedly...but I do have a couple of sun-damaged areas that irk me. This serum has absolutely lightened these up- & this makes me very happy. I'm excited to keep using it to see if it makes them disappear for good!
This is a product that I've been using for nearly a year, and I love it just as much now as I did when I first started! The Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Ultra Lift & Firm SPF 15 Foundation is an absolute DREAM to apply & wear. If you have dry skin, or aging skin, or both (like moi), this will most likely end up being your holy grail. It gives an excellent full coverage (yussss) with a satin finish- & it doesn't sink into any fine lines! A little bit goes a long way, and I've had great success with the longevity of this foundation- I've had a solid 9 hours wear with no touch ups- LOVE! Definitely check it out at your closest Elizabeth Arden counter.
As soon as I laid eyes on the new Bobbi Brown Wine & Chocolate Collection, I was smitten. Actually, as soon as I heard the collection was CALLED Wine & Chocolate, I was smitten. Two of my faves as the inspiration for a collection? YES PLEASE. I wasn't disappointed- look at these beauties! The limited edition collection includes two eyeshadow palettes, Sequin Eye Shadow singles (4 different sparkly/shimmer shades that are all to die for), two brightening blushes, as well as lipstick and gel eyeliner. The packaging is gorgeous, and I just KNOW these are going to sell out. Be quick!
Eye cream is one of those things that I SHOULD have started using about one hundred years ago- but didn't. Because I was so slack, this means that not any old eye product will do- I have some SERIOUS crows feet that need work. thankfully, the legends from Aspect Skincare sent me their Eye Cream several months ago, and I've been using it religiously ever since. It contains all the good stuff like shea butter, Sodium Hyaluronate, Panthenol, Aloe and Glycerin, and it's beautifully nourishing. I apply it twice a day; in the morning before makeup application, and in the evening before bed. While I still do have some crows feet, I've noticed a significant improvement- I look far more awake, & the entire area is just more refreshed. I will definitely keep using this!
If you're like me and you're an absolute sucker for sparkly, glittery, shiny packaging, you're going to lose your mind over the latest MAC Cosmetics collaboration. MAC X Mariah Carey is absolutely BEAUTIFUL- and has arrived just in time for Christmas ;) Start hinting.... ;) The collection (which is pretty vast, actually) includes embossed lipsticks, lipglasses, two eyeshadow quads, blush powders- & so, so much more. My top picks? The Extra Dimension Skinfinish in My Mimi, the warm-toned eyeshadow quad called I'm That Chick You Like, and the gorgeous Bit Of Bubbly lipstick. These will be on counter from December the 12th- get ready!!!
First of all, just look at it. LOOK at the La Prairie gorgeousness. The sleek platinum-like packaging screams luxury and quality, and you can see it has the all-important pump dispenser. Pump dispensers are fabulous because they guarantee hygiene, ease of use, & zero waste. Trust me, you won't want to waste a single drop of this! The Anti-Aging Rapid Response Booster is a serum designed to be worn after cleansing & toning, & before moisturiser, & it claims to lessen the appearance of lines & in two weeks. TWO WEEKS. This sounds mad, but before you roll your eyes, know this- 100% of users trialed had visible skin improvement in 2 weeks. Impressive. The formulation is also impressive with the classic La Prairie rose scent, & it absorbs quickly- no sticky residue found in many serums. I haven't used this for two weeks YET- but I will report back...& in the meanwhile, my skin feels plump, smooth, & looks amazing. If I could bathe in this, I would- it is SO LOVELY.
This beautiful creature is from the Guerlain Spring 2015 collection- just LOOK at it! I love the vintage-inspired cardboard packaging, and I love how divine it smells. in case you couldn't figure out what this product is/does; each pearl is a different blush shade. You dip a powder brush in, swirl it around, and apply. The colour is a beautiful bright pink with a slight shimmer- if this doesn't make you glow like an angel, nothing will. I'll be reviewing the rest of the collection soon! Click here to see a swatch!
Benefit Push-Up Liner
The hype surrounding this product has been huge- and for good reason, because it's everything you want and need in an eyeliner. For starters, it's a pen with a flexible tip- making to super easy to work the liner into the lash line . I can't recommend this more for those of you who are just started out with liner, or those of you who were like me and struggled to achieve a perfect winged line. I was RAPT to find out it's a gel formulation, because I've always found gel so much easier to work with than liquid- and it's a nice, matte black. I was incredibly impressed by how well it stayed on- and didn't fade or flake. It's waterproof, and just so easy to use...I don't rate products out of ten, because it's not my style- but if I did, this would get 6 million out of ten! So now you know why it's amazing, and why I don't use an out of ten system ;)
SauceBox Eye Shadow Palette in Forbidden Fruits
As soon as I saw this palette I knew it was one for me. Being blessed (or cursed) with witch green eyes- all berry/purple/grape shades make them stand out more than anything else. And just look at what this palette has! ALL the colours I love. The packaging is awesome- any palette with a big mirror gets my vote, and you wouldn't believe how big the pans are- they're almost blush-sized! Cruelty free, free of parabens and talc great company ethics, INSANELY great pigmentation- I really can't rate it enough. You need it. And guess what else? They're on sale at Beauty Bliss via the link below for only $30, down from $55- huzzah!! I'd get in quick though, they are just lovely.
xoBeauty Tapered Crease Brush
I LOVE this brush so much- and not just because of how soft and fluffy it is (although that is a big reason). I'm also a huge fan of white brushes! The draw card for me is the size- it's small enough to be used for correct placement of eye shadow, but large enough to be used to blend through the crease, and it does both of these things beautifully. Everyone needs at least one (preferably more) in their brush collection, I personally reach for mine day after day. Plus, it's super important to support NZ businesses- I'm really passionate about that, and I hope you guys are too.
Karl Lagerfeld Eau de Parfum For Her
I LOVE Karl Lagerfeld, and not just because of how obsessed he is (and rightly so) with his cat Choupette. Speaking of Choupette, did you know she has over 36.4K followers on Twitter and over 10,755 followers on Instagram? Love. Just this month, Karl released two new fragrances, For Him and For Her. I've been lucky enough to try the female version, and given how picky I am with perfumes, I'm so happy I love it! It contains my favourites- citrus and floral- the top notes are peach and lemon. After an hour or so, it settles into frangipani, rose, and magnolia...and then at the end of the day it is a cosy musk/amber wood- not dissimilar to the base of my signature scent Narcisso Rodriguez, actually. I have to be disloyal though, and say that the packaging of KL For Her beats NR hands down. I love the solid, chunky look and feel that it has; it's quite a cool contrast to such an ultra-feminine scent. I'm not wearing it right now, but just writing about it makes me want it, so if you'll excuse me... P.S. The male fragrance is equally as divine...for the first time in my life I'm considering buying a men's version- for myself, obviously. They'll each be on Farmers counters from the 11th of April!
Lush Cosmetics Vanilla Puff Dusting Powder
I hadn't heard much about Vanilla Puff Dusting Powder before, but anything that contains vanilla catches my eye immediately and I'm drawn to it- much like a vanilla magpie. Everyone also knows that anything Lush gets my vote, because this brand is FLAWLESS. So I guess I'm a vanilla/Lush hybrid magpie. Anyway! This is a multi-purpose product (my favourite kind), and can be used in a heap of different ways, My fave is to dust it on after a shower, it soaks up any excess mositure and makes my skin feel SO smooth. I've even tried it as a dry shampoo on my roots when I had ran out of Batiste, and it was great- you just use a tiny amount, and it makes your hair smell AMAZING. For those of you with bebes, this is gorgeous to use on them because of the lovely, natural ingredients. The main ingredient is obviously Vanilla Absolute (which is Fair Trade), but it also has jasmine and tonka absolute, all combining together for a smell that's not only divine, but lingers. It's such a cosy scent, and I'm really looking forward to using it throughout the cooler months.
LUSH Feeling Younger Skin Tint
I've been having a love affair with this product for months now, and it occurred to me I've never written about it- sacrilege! This is a little pot of joy that can be used in a multitude of ways to highlight your skin and make you glowing and gorgeous. You can wear it mixed with moisturiser or foundation for a dewy base, on the tops of your cheekbones and brow bones- even as an eye shadow base. So basically it's a light reflecting cream that goes on in shades of pink, gold and silver, it's opalescent- and has yummy natural ingredients like almond oil, cocoa butter & orange flower water. A pot of this will last you for a very long time as well, because a little bit goes a really long way. I feel like there's 6 million more things I could say about Feeling Younger, but I'm running out of space- I just encourage you to go in store and ask the girls about it, you'll be sold. Plus, you'll get to see the Lush girls which is a treat in itself!
