This was sent to me two weeks ago and I don't think I've stopped wearing it since! With top notes of plum and artemisia; middle notes of lily, tuberose and jasmine; and base notes of vanilla, cashmere wood and patchouli- it is seriously yum. Modern Muse Chic is classed as a white floral, and not only does it make me smell delish, the lasting power is excellent! This gets the thumbs up from me, my boyfriend, and various strangers- I love it when that happens. It makes my day, every time.
Benefit Push-Up Liner
The hype surrounding this product has been huge- and for good reason, because it's everything you want and need in an eyeliner. For starters, it's a pen with a flexible tip- making to super easy to work the liner into the lash line . I can't recommend this more for those of you who are just started out with liner, or those of you who were like me and struggled to achieve a perfect winged line. I was RAPT to find out it's a gel formulation, because I've always found gel so much easier to work with than liquid- and it's a nice, matte black. I was incredibly impressed by how well it stayed on- and didn't fade or flake. It's waterproof, and just so easy to use...I don't rate products out of ten, because it's not my style- but if I did, this would get 6 million out of ten! So now you know why it's amazing, and why I don't use an out of ten system ;)
Thalgo Sun Repair Cream Mask
Everyone knows that the New Zealand sun can be blisteringly hot- and over the past few weeks we’ve had some blazing days. And yes, I admit, I got caught out a couple of times. I know this is highly irresponsible of me, and if my beauty therapist Lisa is reading this I’ll probably get in deep trouble. BUT- I found a solution for those times I do slip up and forget to wear sunscreen. Or a hat. Because sometimes it just happens, right? That’s where Thalgo came in and saved me from misery with its beautiful Sun Repair Cream Mask, which can be used on your face and decolletage. This beaut contains:- aloe vera- which we all know is brilliant at soothing any sort of burn- water lily flower extract; which is intensely soothing - macro-algae from the Philippines to aide in preventing skin dehydration - the plant extracts jojoba and wheatgerm; which nourish your skin and help to replenish it
It sounds yummy, because it IS yummy. The texture is rich and silky, and my skin just drinks it up. Another multi purpose product; you can use this as a moisturiser after your skin has been exposed to the sun, or if you’re desperately in need of some proper pampering- apply a thicker layer and use it as a mask for around 10 minutes. I did this, and my skin felt so dreamy afterwards that I couldn’t stop touching it. A little bit goes a LONG way, so you really don’t need to use much at a time, it really is worth investing in.
LUSH Emotional Brilliance Lipstick in Strong
This particular lippy has a special place in my heart. All of the shades in the Emotional Brilliance range are divine, but this one stood out to me the most. The premise behind EB is that if you wear the shade, you will embody that particular emotion- and several months back, I needed Strong. Most of you know I lost a dear friend in July, and I wore this shade to his funeral. I haven’t reached for it much since because of various memories, but I’m wearing it tonight. It’s his birthday, and I’m going to his family’s house to celebrate all that he was, and all that he gave to the world- which was so very much. Without him, there would be no MUO, and that’s a fact. To sum up- if you need some strength, I would go and get this shade- because every little bit helps, right? Love you, Barnes, always missed.
Ever since I started Makeup Obsessives, I've seen you lovelies rave about this product, and now I see why you all love it! The shea butter, almond oil & Nivea's Hydra IQ (deep moisture technology), along with the yummy caramel scent make this little guy a must-have. I popped some on before bed last night, and 8 hours later my lips are moist and soft- perfect for makeup prep. I can't find a single thing wrong with this, it is SO nourishing, and ridiculously addictive. I adore the little tin it comes in, and I adore the price tag of $5.49. You can get it in 3 different types (Caramel Cream, Vanilla & Macadamia and Unscented) at supermarkets & chemists...so there's really no excuse not to pop out right now & buy some ;)
