This particular lippy has a special place in my heart. All of the shades in the Emotional Brilliance range are divine, but this one stood out to me the most. The premise behind EB is that if you wear the shade, you will embody that particular emotion- and several months back, I needed Strong. Most of you know I lost a dear friend in July, and I wore this shade to his funeral. I haven’t reached for it much since because of various memories, but I’m wearing it tonight. It’s his birthday, and I’m going to his family’s house to celebrate all that he was, and all that he gave to the world- which was so very much. Without him, there would be no MUO, and that’s a fact. To sum up- if you need some strength, I would go and get this shade- because every little bit helps, right? Love you, Barnes, always missed.
Ohhhh, this product is a GEM! Normally I don’t love wearing powder in the warmer months, but as it’s been so humid lately, I’m finding a tiny amount is a necessity. This powder is waterproof and heatproof, and along with my fave Skindinavia Finishing Spray, I find it helps my base to stay intact all day. It’s not particularly heavy, but I’d still use a light hand- unless you prefer a full coverage finish of course. It’s a great powder to use before a night out too, keeping everything flawless and in place. I have this in Nude, which was a touch dark for me to use all over my face a few months ago- but I used it as a contour powder and it worked beautifully. Love it!
This is an organic self tanner with no parabens, and WOW, does it work well. I have tried both the lotion (in the regular shade), and the spray (in Extreme), and loved both. If I was to be using this product in winter, I’d go for the regular shade, but now it’s getting warmer and I’m getting more colour anyway, I find the Extreme formulation perfect! It’s definitely, definitely dark, so I’d only recommend this shade if you want to be super tanned (which I do). You can buy it in different sizes (4 oz and 8 oz), and it comes with a special blending brush to make it even easier!
Worth $18NZD, this little babe of a product comes free with the latest issue of Womans Day, and it is AMAZING. It smells absolutely divine, like fruity lollies, and feels beautiful on- not all sticky like some glosses. My favourite part? The in-built mirror in the casing. I love this because i very rarely carry a compact, and it’s quite nice to be able to re-apply my gloss without it ending up somewhere near my eyebrows. I have the shades Miami Sunset (peachy orange) and Berry Pink (strawberry pink), and I think I need more. No, I KNOW I need more. Now I just need to figure out what to
What can I say about this palette that hasn’t already been said? It is my ultimate, my love, my holy grail. Naked2 is better for me in winter with its cooler tones, but I NEED the warmer tones that the OG Naked palette contains. As most of you know, there are 12 shades, a mixture of matte and shimmer, it comes with a brush in a super-cute velvet covered case. There are literally endless combinations you can make with this palette- just have a look on YouTube if you’re not convinced. I try so hard to ban myself from it and not use it every day, but I feel like I get withdrawal symptoms, and end up staring at it wistfully. Yes, it’s $$, but it’s worth every cent, I promise you! I got mine from Sephora using YouShop.
I have quite a few brushes- not a tonne, but a few that I consider essential. However, if I had to choose just one (and this thought makes me a little anxious, I’m not going to lie) it'd be the #266 small angled brush. Why? Because I use it for EVERYTHING crucial. I have 3, one for filling in my brows, one for eyeshadow (for lining), and one for gel liner. You can use it wet or dry, but I very rarely wet it, I find it does the trick for everything as is. I’ve had mine for absolute years, and they still perform beautifully. The 266 is firm, but not at all rough on your eyes...I can’t say enough about it. Again, it’s not cheap, but if you’re looking for a high quality angle brush, you can’t go past it.
