MAC Cosmetics Mineralise Blush in Warm Soul
Many moons ago, I used to be addicted to the MAC blush Style- and now that addiction has been replaced with this guy. I watched countless tutorials by Batalash where she raved about Warm Soul- and lets face it; if she told me to jump off a bridge I probably would- so I brought it. It's the most beautiful pink/peach/beige with gold pearl, and I wear it nearly every day. Because it does have a sheen to it, I don't need to highlight (at least not for day wear), and I love how sheer yet buildable it is. Samantha is right- you need this.
Ben Nye Banana Luxury Powder
I bought this because I had FOMO, and now I get it. it's a brightening finishing powder; and it's so great that the only gripe I have about it is the way it is dispensed- I have to shake it into the lid, which is a bit of a mess but it IS worth it. If you have oily skin, you'll bloody love it because it'll keep shine away all day. It's super finely milled, so I like to use it under my eyes to set my concealer- being yellow toned it also brightens the area. If you have dry skin, do make sure you've moisturised and primed first...but it is incredibly silky and easy to blend. You get a LOT, this will last me over a year easily. High five, Banana Powder- you're worthy of the hype.
Maybelline SuperStay Better Skin Foundation
This foundation has been out for a little while now, and it needs more play because it's really quite awesome. If you like a fuller, flawless finish that lasts for ages, you'll like it. I'm not sure if it actively made my skin "better", but it certainly LOOKED better, and I have my skincare to sort my skin out anyway. It's more or less a dupe for DW (big call), because it covers eeeeeeeeverything- I only need concealer on my nose and chin, the usual suspects. The finish is satin, which is my favourite, and it's not going to send you broke- YAY! Give it a whirl.
Stila Magnificent Metals in Metallic Merlot
It's not that I don't like this product, because I do- it wouldn't be in Friday Faves otherwise. But I'm still figuring out how to make it work...so if ANYONE can give me tips, please do. The foiled, metallic effect it gives is unlike any other shadow I've tried, it's so beautiful, and you do get a whole lot of product for your money (as well as a miniature vial of Stila Eye Primer). If I pack it onto my lower lid using the tip of my finger, as close to the lashes as possible- brilliant. Any higher than the crease, and it's, well, crease city. Nothing a little pat with your finger won't fix, but I'm sure there's a way around this. It hasn't put me off- I'm buying the gold and the bronze soon- but I still want your help!
Mavala Nail Polish Select Range
Buying a new nail polish is always a bit tricky- there are no testers, and it's a bit of a gamble given how much you have to spend. Mavala has you sorted though, because their nail polishes are 5ml, and only $9.95- giving you the perfect way to experiment with new shades. And look at these new colours, seriously, they're so pretty! They're also long wearing and high quality- GREAT pigmentation. Mavala is a Swiss brand which draws heavily on influence from the runway, so you can be assured that your nails will always be on-trend...even if you're wearing trackies from Cotton On (which I am right now). You can find these at selected pharmacies, so start hunting now!
Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Color Gloss Sticks
I haven't raved about multi-purpose products in awhile, and these little beauties are worth the wait. Available in four different shades, the Gloss Sticks are part of the latest collection from Elizabeth Arden called Summer Escape. The cute bright colours (and that packaging) are the perfect way to inject a bit of summer brightness into our rubbish winter days. They're a lip pencil, lipstick, and lip gloss all in one- taking the best features of each to make one super product. The best thing (for me) is how moisturising they feel on- perfect for this time of year when most of our lips aren't in the best shape. My favourite is Coral Reef, because I'm a complete pushover when it comes to any peach shade, but they're all gorgeous!
