In my reviews I’ve talked about self tanners for those of you with lighter skin, and self tanners for those of you with darker skin. This lil treasure falls right in between, but is also user friendly enough for you fair skinned beauties. This is NOT a self tanner that will make you orange. It also won’t make you smell funny- it’s odour free. It is also made with organic ingredients, and contains no parabens. All of these are reason enough to try it, really. You know how I feel about mitts, you’ve got to use a mitt- it’s just safer and easier all round. I apply Cabana Lotion just like I would a regular body lotion, and I like how it absorbs quickly too. The colour itself takes about 8 hours to develop, and it lasts for aaaaaaaages- nearly a week, but it wears off as your skin naturally exfoliates. You can apply it daily until you’re the shade you’d like, just be sure to do thin coats- again, it’s safer and easier all round. Trust me- I’ve been trialling so many self tanners lately, and I’ve learned by trial and error. This is a lovely product, and I’m so happy we can buy it in New Zealand now.
So last week I got to go to a Lush Bloggers Event which was AMAZING fun as usual! It was to showcase all their new Christmas treats available in-store, and wow, there are so many! If you’re still panicking about what to buy people, Lush has you covered, because there are numerous products to choose from, at a great range of price points. My absolute favourite is the ever-popular Snow Fairy Shower Gel. It smells just beautiful- like candyfloss and vanilla, and contains little flecks of blue glitter. It is YUM! Coming in at a close second is the Rose Jam Shower Gel, which is another limited edition product so you’ll have to get in quickly. I suspect this will become a bestseller, the scent of rose and lemon is divine. The Noriko Soap not only looks good, but feels amazing on your skin- it has one of my favourite ingredients, coconut oil, yay! I could go on and on; there are bath bombs, lip scrubs, soaps, body lotions- everything you could ever want. If you haven’t been already, I suggest you pop in to your nearest store immediately before they run out, they’re so good!!!
I don’t know about you guys, but I’m pretty hopeless at applying mascara to my bottom lashes without it getting everywhere. Yes, you can wait til the mistakes dry and then clean them up with a cotton bud- but imagine being able to apply it with no mares at all! Clinique is saving us from these girl (and guy) dramas by giving us a mascara that it specifically designed for your bottom lashes alone! It might look little- but if you use it every day, it’s 90 days worth, which is pretty cool in my books. The brush is tiny, so it is far easier to control- and the formula itself is smudge-proof, another plus! As usual the packaging is adorable, and it also comes in two different shades; black and black/brown. I love this product! Thank you Clinique!!
How many talented Kiwi ladies do we have to look to to inspire us nowadays?! I’m so proud and happy of everyone’s achievements, and I truly take my hat off to you clever gurus- I for one could never be brave enough to do it. Plus, all the editing? SO much work, you guys are amazing. You’ve probably all heard of these lovelies, but I wanted to do shout-outs to my favourites below, so if you haven’t already subscribed, do so! The advice and inspiration you can gain is invaluable <3

I reviewed Trilogy last week, I know, but I wanted to give yet another mention to them because this serum has become my absolute go-to every single day. I apply it after cleansing and toning, and if my skin is in need of extra moisture, I’ll apply my regular moisturiser over the top of this oil. But seriously, it’s so nourishing that it's extremely rare that I have to do this. It contains all the essential fatty acids and super antioxidants (lycopene and phytosterol) your skin needs and it’s kind of like I’m giving myself a mini facial whenever I apply it. It feels THAT good. I use 3 drops, but you may only need 1-2, I’m just a bit greedy. Since using it, I’ve found that my skin looks brighter and is starting to have a more even tone...and I swear that some of my fine lines are lessening. This makes for a very happy Kirsty, and I’m absolutely hooked.
It is by no means an easy task to set up and run an online beauty store in New Zealand. Obviously I don’t even know the half of it, but I can certainly imagine how difficult it would be- particularly when so many people prefer to buy from overseas beauty sites. Now, I’m not slamming this concept, because I have done it myself, but when I can, I MUCH prefer to support NZ businesses. These awesome humans are doing us such a wonderful service by bringing product to New Zealand, and many of them either have free shipping or charge a very small amount. Below are some of the stand-outs in my opinion- both in range and customer service- thank you guys!
