This week I wear a full face of ARTDECO, a German brand which is VERY popular overseas, and increasing in popularity in NZ. You can find the products at Farmers, and I can guarantee that if you haven't checked them out already, you'll be stoked about how affordable they are. The other bonus? You buy the eye shadows separately (for $9 each!!!! REALLY), and a cute empty palette- the shadows have magnetised backs, so voila- a personalised palette. No more wasted and neglected colours for you, my friend/s. And the range is HUGE!! Let's GO!
The foundation is cream to powder, and claims to have a medium-strong coverage- this is true. It's not as thick as the likes of Studio Tech, but it does the trick, and it's super quick and easy to apply. It did dry quite quickly, and because my skin is dry, it did kind of stick to various dry areas on my face. You'd only notice this if you were about to kiss me or something, so it's not that obvious- but I think it'd suit people with normal-oily skin down to a tee. I'll probably give it another whirl once my skin is properly sorted out- the coverage, packaging and price make it too tempting.
The Bronzing Powder Compact in Caribbean (#5) costs $34...BUT is refillable, with the refills only costing $20. This makes me happy. I'm normally not down for any bronzers which aren't strictly matte; but I'm so glad I made an exception in this case. The powder has more of a glow/sheen- NO sparkle (phew). The swatch above shows (from left to right) the lighter shade, the darker shade, and both mixed together. They're so easily blended that I'm tempted to wear them as eye shadows, but I'm not sure if the pigments would be eye-safe. I'll let you know, but for now, it's a brilliant bronzing powder. Top marks.
Like everybody at the moment, I'm obsessed with lip liners. They last for ages (not just on the lips, but in general), take up minimal space in my makeup bag, and are more affordable than other lip products. I opted for the most Kylie Jenner-esque shade I could find in the Soft Lip Liner Waterproof range, Sensual Teak (#26). I'm unsure about the waterproof factor, because my lips very rarely go swimming, but perhaps that just pays homage to how long wearing it is. And it is! I also found no need to put lip balm on before applying, because it is THAT soft- stoked. I was quite happy wearing this by itself (see pic below on the left), but in the interest of this post, I used it as a base for the Perfect Colour Lipstick in the shade Red Brown Emotion (#33). I love love love browny reds, and this shade is just what I've been hunting for to wear in the Autumn months. It's nice and creamy, with a satin finish rather than the mattes I've been wearing lately. It looks darker in the photos below than it is (you guys know by now that I have a potato phone camera), but it still packs a decent punch. Love! I love the prices too- the lip liner costs $19, and the lipstick costs $25.
