Foundation time! I was sent the Moisture Foundation SPF15 ($40.95), which is described as being lightweight, and having light-medium coverage. They're definitely telling the truth, and my only concern was that I was nervous it wouldn't give me as much coverage as I like. However I did find that once I built it up, I was really happy with it! The finish is light and dewy, and it was incredibly easy to blend. I like the pump dispenser because there's less chance of my making a gigantic mess, and there's no odd fragrance to freak out my skin. I apply this with my fave flat top kabuki foundation brush, and I can see myself still using it in winter- perhaps with some loose powder on top.
Moving onto another product that I am overly fussy about- mascara. I feel like I try a new one every week, which is hardly a bad thing, but not all of them are great. I haven't actually ever come across one that I've HATED, but I do have specific things I want. Mainly, I just want the mascara I use to emphasise the length of my lashes, which (thanks to Revitalash) are a decent length. I hate hate hate clumpy lashes, so I generally stay away from volumising formulas..but I gave Super Volume Mascara ($27.50) a shot, because WHY NOT? It's a good mascara, fairly basic- and it doesn't clump. I did use a spoolie (spooly?) to comb through afterwards, but that's just normal for me. The main draw card for this mascara is that it's suitable for sensitive eyes/contact lens wearers, which is actually quite rare.
I love love love multi-purpose products, and I especially love a good cheek & lip stain- so I was happy to try the Lip & Cheek Velvet Stick ($32.00). I take umbrage with tints that are packaged poorly- who wants to get THAT stuff everywhere? I seriously cannot complain about this product- about the packaging or the performance. It's like a fat little crayon, and the shade is meant to be universally flattering- a claim that I usually doubt but this shade is pretty- and can be layered if you'd like it to be deeper. The texture is ALMOST matte, it smells like cherries, and it's not so quick to dry that you find yourself having a meltdown. I'm excited to see if they bring out different shades, and if definitely not a product I'd be too scared to carry in my bag!
