Korean cosmetics. They're a thing- and a thing that I really didn't know that much about until I started seeing it discussed on MUO. I honestly just didn't know where to start; but the number one product that seemed to be mentioned nearly every day was the Lioele BB Cream. I'll talk more about that below- but basically, I loved it so much that I decided to try a couple of other Korean makeup brands. And they are RAD!! Not just rad, but ridiculously affordable. So thanks to http://www.hikosencara-nz.com/, I bring you this Korean cosmetic extravaganza. With SWATCHES. And SELFIES. Please excuse the quality of the pics- you guys know the potato phone drill.
This week I review some products that are talked about just about EVERY day on the MUO Facebook group- the Velvetine lipsticks from Lime Crime. The magical kind humans from www.makeup.co.nz/look sent me all six- SO cool of them, and I'll tell you what I thought. And I even did swatches- swatches!
By beautiful MUO Contributor- Ashleigh Burgess- thank you so much, love!
Most of you would have heard of, and even sampled some of the amazing goodies that Oasis Beauty, have to offer. And if you’re a fan of Courtney Harper's poss, then you’re going to love who Oasis have at their house! (MUO should have a clause in the group rules to warn that cute animals are a must for any beauty lover)
I caught up with self-confessed farm girl, fashion lover, and fellow Makeup Obsessive Heather (who says she’s never ever posted a selfie, but loves how encouraging we all are, SO LETS CHANGE THAT AND GET A SELFIE OUT OF HER!!) from Oasis Beauty to chat about all things skincare – and a bit of makeup as well!

The e.l.f Studio Eye Primer & Liner Sealer is exactly my cup of tea, and this is why:
- it is multipurpose (one end is primer, the other a liner sealer)
- the packaging is cute, portable, and genius
- the sealer end has an inbuilt eye liner brush
- it's only $10!!!! (from http://makeup.co.nz/look)
I was really impressed with how well this worked, especially underneath shadows that have shimmer- it REALLY amped them up and this pleased me greatly. My shadow stayed in place all day, and applying it is incredibly simple, I just blend it on my lids with my fingers. I think it could even double as a concealer as well- I'll try that this week!
I tried the Studio Bronzer in Warm, although there is also a Cool version for those of you with fairer skin. The little e.l.f compacts get me every time- they're far sturdier than I had imagined, and I just love the matte black packaging- it actually looks like a high end product from that alone. As you can see from the pic, the bronzer contains 4 shades. Apparently you can use each colour separately, but I find this a bit fiddly, so I just swirl my bronzer brush over all 4 at once to blend them together. I don't normally reach for bronzing products that aren't matte, but this has just the right amount of shimmer- NOT glitter. I wouldn't use it to contour, but as a bronzer or blush, it gives me a nice healthy appearance. And...it's $10. High five.
It's kind of crazy that I've been blogging for near on a year now, and hadn't ONCE tried a product from e.l.f Cosmetics. This is madness! Especially because I've seen you guys rave about it over and over, with generally glowing reports. How could anyone forget the madness when it became available to purchase in-store in NZ? I'm pretty sure it was hordes of MUOs swarming the shops and emptying the shelves, unable to resist the high quality/low price combo that e.l.f Cosmetics deliver. New Zealand finally has an authorised online retailer at http://www.makeup.co.nz/elf-cosmetics.html, a trusted and popular site that I can personally vouch for. Shipping is FAST, and you'll be supporting an NZ business, something I feel really strongly about. I'm going to have a wee rave about some of the products I've tried- without sounding like a makeup snob, I was pleasantly surprised at how great they are- actually really great. And so CHEAP! Read on, lovers.
At the last Chistchurch MeetUp Lunch, I was lucky enough to be gifted the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette- a product that I have been lusting after FOREVER. Thank you to my beloved admin team, because I LOVE it more than any other palette...yes- even my Naked palettes- gasp. I'm planning on doing a full review in the next month; but when our very own MUO beauty guru Arna Alayne told me she'd just filmed a tutorial using this palette, I knew I had to share it. Enjoy, my loves, and don't forget to subscribe to Arna via the following link:
