The All In One Mascara ($32) is one of the 19 (yes, 19!!!) mascaras available from ARTDECO. I found this particular mascara was perfect for my everyday makeup routine, as it lengthens, volumises, and curls all at once. No messing about with eyelash curlers- which I’ve never really loved using anyway. All In One contains Carnauba wax to condition your lashes and keep them nice and healthy. I also LOVED how long lasting it was. I applied it at the start of the day, looked after 30 or so toddlers, sunbathed for a fair amount of time and probably inadvertently rubbed my eyes a few times too. And it didn’t move! YAY!
As for the eye shadows themselves, I decided I wanted to stick to neutrals, as they’re my favourite anyway ;) I liked the idea of having something I could reach for on an daily basis without having to worry about the expense when they were used up. They’re really creamy on application, and have excellent pigmentation- which you all know is the most important thing for me. I can’t stand having to over-swatch! ARTDECO also does a great eyeshadow base/primer which comes in a cute little pot for $16. I really liked this because I found the shade of the base itself neutralised any redness on my lids, (less concealer, yay!), and I loved the packaging. It’s all sleek, shiny and black, totally classic. All the ARTDECO products are packaged thus, UNLESS, of course, you opt for one of the adorable limited edition palettes which are brought out every season. Have a look at all the different ones here:
The ARTDECO lip products are numerous and all high quality. The one I tried was the Art Couture lipstick ($32) in Summer Flower, which is a really pretty rosy pink with a gold pearl. Now, normally I shy away from any lipstick with a pearl finish, but this shade is incredibly wearable. I like to balance it out by teaming it with a matte eye, and going easy on the shimmer highlighting. I also have it from a pretty reliable source that lip products with a frost or pearl finish are going to become extremely popular soon. It’s their time to (literally) shine!
I absolutely love with a passion the Hydra Lip Booster in Translucent Rosewood ($22). This is the perfect shade for everyday, a pinky nude that will go with absolutely anything. It’s long wearing, but not so sticky that you’re forever picking your hair out of your lips on windy days- worst. It contains Marine Fillings Spheres® (goodies that smooth out wrinkles and lines), which really do serve to make your lips look plumper. The colour pay off in these is really high, so you only need to use a small amount for maximum impact. I really like the look of the shades of Translucent Mandarin, and Translucent Pink Lolly for summer, so they’ll be going on my Christmas wish list.
To sum up, ARTDECO is an extremely versatile, beautifully packaged brand that is ridiculously good value for your money. There are so many products of theirs that I’m looking forward to trying, such as their foundations and their blushers. As I mentioned before, ARTDECO only launched in NZ on November 8th, and I suspect that certain products will sell out really quickly. You can go and try these beauties for yourselves at any Farmers; I suggest you run, not walk, to your nearest store- you’ll love them!
