I am CRAZY excited to tell you guys about this range, because not only was the brand Jane Iredale new to me, but I'm in love with every single product I've tried. This is good and bad- good, because, excellent makeup. Bad, because, $$. However, I am fairly capable of taking the good with the bad when it comes to makeup, which I'm sure you all understand. I'd really only heard of Jane Iredale being called, "the skincare makeup", and I do have to admit that up until a couple of years ago, I couldn't have cared less about my skin, or whether makeup could play a part in making it better. Stupid, rookie mistake- take it from me. I should have started caring earlier, and I honestly can't stress how important it is to look after your skin right NOW- whatever age you are. Let's check some Jane Iredale products out, & see how they measure up (hint, they are AMAZING(.
When I was a wee dot, I remember being completely obsessed with The Body Shop. Whenever we made the big trip to Riccarton Mall, my sister and I would always beeline directly to the shop in there, and spend all our pocket money- Mango Body Butter & various types of lip balm were always first on our list. Later on, in the nineties, I would buy a particular brown lip pencil from there- this was when Kylie Jenner was just a baby. Not that I'm a trend setter, far from it, but if you were a young adult in the nineties you HAD to wear a matte brown lip- or else. Weirdly, over 15 years later (omg, old), I still love a brown lip and not so weirdly, I still love The Body Shop. I was so excited to try a full face of products from here, and I really loved what I found! They're as fantastic as ever!
L’Oréal Paris is a mega-brand, and you'd have to be living in relative isolation not to have heard of them (or, not be a member of MUO). If you're anything like me, you would have stood in front of a L’Oréal Paris display at least once in your life, wanted to try things, but wouldn't know where to start because of the sheer range of products available. I'm going to take some of the guesswork out of the process for you; I've selected some products that had some interesting claims, put them on my face, and now I'm going to tell you what I thought. ALLONS-Y.
Welcome to the first post in a new feature I'm doing this year- "A Full Face of..."! Each post will focus on a selection of products from one brand only- it sounds easy, but I tend to use an insane variety of ranges every day. From what I can tell via MUO, most of you are the same, so let's see how this challenge goes! I'll tell you what I use, how I use it- and what my first impressions are. The majority are things I've never tried, and I'm looking forward to seeing if I can find some new favourites! In the interest of full disclosure, I will be wearing the same brow product each time- good old DipBrow. This is mostly because my brows are so unruly it's the only thing that can tame it, but also because I just love it...just let me have that one, 'k? ;)
This week I wear a full face of ARTDECO, a German brand which is VERY popular overseas, and increasing in popularity in NZ. You can find the products at Farmers, and I can guarantee that if you haven't checked them out already, you'll be stoked about how affordable they are. The other bonus? You buy the eye shadows separately (for $9 each!!!! REALLY), and a cute empty palette- the shadows have magnetised backs, so voila- a personalised palette. No more wasted and neglected colours for you, my friend/s. And the range is HUGE!! Let's GO!
