Okay- if you’re looking for a SUPER strong toning shampoo, Fanola is your guy. It means business, okay? If you leave it on for the recommended time, it’s bloody fantastic, & makes my hair that silvery ashy blonde I’ve been trying like crazy to achieve. Any longer, & your hair WILL turn all kinds of crazy shades of violet/grey (& in my case, a little green). This is totally my fault, & no way a reflection of the product, because the product rules & I just got carried away. Let’s just write it off as an experiment for the blog- & by the way, the shades washed out after two shampoos. Make sure to use a nice moisturising conditioner (or preferably a masque) afterwards, this is always a good idea after using a toning shampoo! This was sent to me to review from the legends at Hair Products Online, & I’ll definitely buy it from them when this runs out...which won’t be for ages because the bottle is HUGE. Loved it loved it loved it- this is officially my new toning shampoo.

Okay, I’d been wanting to try the GlamGlow products for ages, so when Mecca started stocking them I was like YESSSS. The first one (Power Mud) I tried was a sample, & after I finished it I bought another small size because I wanted to make sure the good results weren’t a fluke. It turns from a clay mud face mask to an oil when you apply water (I leave it on for about 15 mins, & is meant to deep cleanse your skin. It does do a solid job of this, my skin felt very smooth & fresh afterwards, & I’ll probably buy it again to use when my skin is misbehaving. Something I love about GlamGlow is that you have the option to buy some of the masks in smaller sizes (cos the big ones are $$$), & this is a good thing if you find the product to be rubbish. Speaking of, Youth Mud. I bought this because it sounded fun, it’s meant to be a best-seller, & because apparently Beyonce & Jay Z use it. SOLD. Honestly though, it was thick & messy, a nightmare to apply- bits of seaweed (or something green and leafy) flaking everywhere, & I didn’t notice any particular difference. Too much effort for too little a result, so it’s a no from me. And I totally didn’t look like Beyonce. It worked nicely on my boyfriend, but I can’t see him buying it any time soon. BUT- Thirsty Mud was divine! I bought this at the same time as I bought the others, & I’ve already bought the larger size. It’s a hydrating mask that smells like oh my god everything yum- like caramel, creme brulee, white chocolate- ahhh. My skin seriously drinks this stuff, & I like to use it a couple of times a week...result: glowy, radiant, happy skin. High five, GlamGlow. Stay tuned for reviews of the rest of the range!
I bought this because I’m actively hunting for a decent waterproof mascara to take to Thailand in April- needless to say, the Rimmel 10% Waterproof mascara will not be coming along. I really didn’t like it! I threw it in the bin after one use- which I NEVER do because I hate being wasteful. If I dislike a product straight away, I generally always try to give it a second chance. I’ll look on the product page or YouTube to see if I’m using it incorrectly, or search on MUO to see what others think, & then if all else fails I’ll put it aside & pass it on to someone who’ll give it a good home. Not with this mascara though. It felt like I was brushing on thin air, like NOTHING was coming out, my lashes hardened into demonic little spikes which were impossible to separate, & it was a bugger to take off again- there was swearing. Would not buy again, nope!
It’s been a long time since I’ve been so excited to purchase a product- I was stoked when this palette became available here. I mean, it looked perfect, because peach shades are my JAM.The fact that it smelled like peach was an added bonus, & so in the shopping trolley it went- along with one of the new Oil Lip Glosses (the brightest peach shade available). Did they live up to expectations? Yes & no- I’ll tell you why. The palette DEFINITELY smells gorgeous, & the colour payoff of the shadows is fantastic in all but a few shades. I love all the gold/bronze shimmer shades, the brown mattes, & the peach colours are divine (& wear really well). I wish they’d included a few more orange toned matte colours, & I’m not particularly sold on the inclusion of the purple & the green. I found the purple shades a bit difficult to blend, & to be honest, I probably just won’t use them- but then again, I’m hardly the most adventurous person when it comes to makeup. There are 18 shades in this palette, & realistically, I can see myself using 12 of them regularly- is it worth the $78 pricetag? You decide!
As for the Oil Lip Gloss- I LOVE IT. I chose the shade Tickle Me Peach because it was the brightest, peachiest shade in the range, & I wasn’t sure how sheer they were going to be. I can’t really be bothered with lip products that give just a hint of colour, you know? Well, guess what? These guys are NOT sheer- they’re frickin awesome- so much pigmentation! They’re also not the slightest bit sticky, they smell divine, & the colour lasts for aaaaages. At $29, I reckon they’re an absolute steal, & I’ll buy at least one more. Fab fab fab.
I HAD to buy all three of these to try them out, as they’re easily some of the most talked about products in the MUO group. I’d really heard only good things, and for the most part, I do really like them. They absolutely, definitely help your makeup stay in place all day long (and I assume all night long as well, but I’ve never worn the same face of makeup from 8am until late into the night- I’m 37, for gods sake, not 21). So, there’s the original, the All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray, the Chill- Cooling & Hydrating Makeup Setting Spray, & the De-Slick Oil Control Makeup Setting Spray. For reference, I have normal-ish skin, which can be prone to dryness in winter. As I said above- these all work to keep your makeup intact- no dramas there. But I really didn’t notice much of a difference between the three! After trying the original, and still getting a rather shiny face around mid afternoon, I tried the Cooling Spray. This worked exactly the same (I admit it did feel nice going on, & did seem to stop my makeup settling into my FINE LINES-EW)- but I still got shiny face at 3pm. So I tried the De-Slick Oil Control, (which felt a little like hairspray on my face, but it wasn’t gross or anything) & I STILL got shiny face. At this point I went & checked the product description, thinking that maybe they didn’t promise to banish shine, & that I was being a dick/asking too much. The only one that says it will “deflect shine” is the Oil Control- the rest say it keeps your makeup looking “fresh”. So...I’m confused- maybe my face is meant to be shiny? I was hoping for matte...but given that we’ve had a heatwave lately, I’m probably being demanding. What do you reckon? I still love how it extends the wear of my makeup, & I’ll carry on using it-perhaps it’ll control shine in winter. I’ll let you know! I’d love to hear your thoughts on these. I will repurchase, but probably only the Cooling one, simply because I liked how it felt going on...you definitely don’t need all three!
