- it is multipurpose (one end is primer, the other a liner sealer)
- the packaging is cute, portable, and genius
- the sealer end has an inbuilt eye liner brush
- it's only $10!!!! (from http://makeup.co.nz/look)
I was really impressed with how well this worked, especially underneath shadows that have shimmer- it REALLY amped them up and this pleased me greatly. My shadow stayed in place all day, and applying it is incredibly simple, I just blend it on my lids with my fingers. I think it could even double as a concealer as well- I'll try that this week!
I tried the Studio Bronzer in Warm, although there is also a Cool version for those of you with fairer skin. The little e.l.f compacts get me every time- they're far sturdier than I had imagined, and I just love the matte black packaging- it actually looks like a high end product from that alone. As you can see from the pic, the bronzer contains 4 shades. Apparently you can use each colour separately, but I find this a bit fiddly, so I just swirl my bronzer brush over all 4 at once to blend them together. I don't normally reach for bronzing products that aren't matte, but this has just the right amount of shimmer- NOT glitter. I wouldn't use it to contour, but as a bronzer or blush, it gives me a nice healthy appearance. And...it's $10. High five.
I'm a complete sucker for a coral blush, I really am- in fact I love pretty much everything coral. It wasn't hard to pick Candid Coral as a shade to try- it was between that and Mellow Mauve actually. Given how impressed I am with the quality of the blush, I'm going to buy Mellow Mauve for myself. Back to Candid Coral though- it's the perfect pinky peachy colour with a gold shimmer. There's not toooo much shimmer though- just enough that I don't have to use a highlighter, because my skin looks super fancy with this blush alone. It's not the most pigmented blush I've ever owned, for sure, but I'm not fussed because it's no drama to build it up. You never really want to be too heavy handed with a blush anyway...well, you might, but I prefer to take it easy/play it safe. I've also heard really good things about the Twinkle Pink shade- so I daresay that'll sneak into my order as well.
So! That's my two part e.l.f Cosmetics review finished with- it was an absolute joy to write actually. Did I mention that e.l.f stands for "Eyes Lips Face"? And that it's cruelty free? And that one of the co founders also launched the iconic brand Hard Candy? Pretty cool- and pretty cool you can buy it right here in NZ via http://makeup.co.nz/look without paying more than $14 for any product- YAY!
