Situated in Mt Eden, Loft Beauty Boutique is a cosy, warm, pretty place, where Lisa makes you feel welcome and relaxed instantly. I love that Lisa does a full consultation prior to skin treatments; my skin is dry and quite sensitive, so this was really necessary- and a testament to how thorough and professional she is.
First up, Lisa gave me a hydrating facial using products from Aspect Skincare. This range is not only cruelty free, but in their own words use where possible, “certified organic ingredients free of pesticides, parabens, perfumes and dyes, because skin in need should be nurtured and never tortured.” The Aspect products used were: Gentle Clean Cleanser, Fruit Enzyme Mask, Hydrating Mask, Extreme B17 Serum, and Phytostat 9 Moisturiser. Lisa also finished up with some COOLA Organic SPF Matte and a touch of colour from Bella Vi mineral foundation powder in Golden Silk. My skin felt WONDERFUL- not just immediately afterwards, but for DAYS afterwards. I didn’t break out at all either, which I normally do after facials, major plus.
Next was the lash perm and tint, which I loved! You can see the amazing results in the picture above…my lashes are naturally pretty straight, and have blonde tips, so a tint and a perm made a huge difference. I was so excited to get a lash perm, having heard that they can make your eyes appear bigger, brighter, and more feminine…who wouldn’t want that?! Lisa uses small curved rods, (size depending on lash length) and different solutions for the desired amount of curl, and the whole process is super relaxing. Well, it was relaxing for me, but it’s actually really intricate work, so I’m not sure how relaxing it was for Lisa.
If you’re interested in getting a perm (which can last up to 12 weeks, depending on your lash cycle), I’d recommend getting a tint as well, just to give it that extra oomph. Mine were dyed blue-black (the darkest shade available), and I’ve had to use very little mascara nearly one month later. All dyes used for tinting are vegetable dyes, which makes me happy (my eyes are SUPER sensitive).
Lastly Lisa took care of the thing I needed help with most, my BROWS. My poor baby brows that had been subjected to over-plucking years ago and never recovered. I had them tinted (which made a huge difference in itself, given I’m naturally blonde…ah, my secret is out), and shaped using both wax and tweezers. I’ve basically given my brows to Lisa now; they’re hers, I’m not touching them- she clearly knows what she is doing and I can’t wait to go back and show her that I haven’t touched them. I promised her I wouldn't tweeze, and I KNOW she’ll know if I do! ;)
All in all, it was such an amazing way to spend a couple of hours. Lisa really and truly knows everything there is to know about beauty therapy, and she doesn’t make you feel silly for asking questions. Loft Beauty Boutique provides a whole range of lovely treatments, which you can read more about here http://www.loftbeauty.co.nz/prices/ and I’m pretty excited to visit her to get a spray tan in time for the summer months! She’s the loveliest person, and makes the whole experience fun as well as beneficial. I recommend her and Loft 110%, a thousand times over, thank you, Lisa!! Xxx
