Back in the good old days when I was fun, I would think nothing of spending over $40 on a lip gloss, and did so frequently. Sometimes I would even buy ones I already knew I had, "just in case" I lost one, and somehow would not be able to function if I couldn't have access to it. While this was a kind of ridiculous way to live, it is what it was, and I've accepted that I can't be as frivolous as that anymore. I'm not even sad about it though, because there are so many brands available that can help me out because they're both affordable and high performing- like NYX Cosmetics! While not available in store, you can buy the following products from http://makeup.co.nz/look
Speaking of lip glosses, NYX saved my face and my bank balance by producing these wee gems. I've talked about them before, and no doubt most of you will have seen them being raved about on MUO. It's for good reason- the NYX Butter Gloss range is AMAZING. It looks good, it smells good, and it lasts...good. It's really long-wearing, and all of the shades available are nice and opaque, so you only need use a small amount if you want something subtle. The shades below are Cherry Cheese Cake (a true orange, nectarine shade) and Apple Strudel (a softer coral/pink) and I've been trying them out over the past few weeks. Cherry Cheese Cake is ridiculously on trend for the up and coming months- being the go-to shade for spring in the other hemisphere. It'll fun to bring this guy out in our colder months to bring a pop of colour to grey days. It's definitely not pastel, it is BRIGHT, so it's a "brave" shade ;) Apple Strudel is much more of an every day, wearable option, and is so pretty! I have to admit I have two of these...I couldn't help it. They're only $11.95 from www.makeup.co.nz, which is super great.
I do love cream blush, because I much prefer a dewy finish on my cheeks as opposed to matte- particularly in autumn and winter when my skin is a little more prone to dryness. NYX Cream Blush is beautiful and long wearing- and can also be used as a lip colour if you're into multi-purpose products like me. The blush on the left is the shade "Natural"- it's a light pink which would be gorgeous on people with fairer/medium toned skin colour. On the right is "Tea Rose", which is a darker pink with tones of mocha, and this is my favourite! I love how none of the colours available are shimmery, the finish is just dewy and pretty- and really easy to build up as well. Love them love them love them.
Look at this lip colour!! Look! SO pretty. Everyone knows I love my neutrals, and whether you agree with my choices or not, they're just my thing. You won't be surprised to find out this particular shade is actually called "Natural", and it really is just so perfect for every day- pinky brown yumminess. If you have witch green eyes like me, this shade will make them pop- in a good way, obviously. It's from the NYX Matte Lipstick family and I really do like these because they don't dry my lips out like crazy afterwards, and there are so many lovely colours to choose from. Being matte, they do last for a great length of time which pleases me, and I'm happy with how opaque they are- I truly have nothing bad to say about them! I've got my eye on a couple of other shades, namely Indie Flick and Shocking Pink- just to try and mix it up a little bit for you guys.
