- perform a patch test to make sure your skin doesn't react to the product
- perform a strand test so you can see what colour you'll end up with at the end
- read the instructions, over and over, inside and out, until you could recite them from memory
If you cover yourself by doing the three things above, you won't go wrong. Yes, there is a chance that your hair will be a little dry where you've lightened it- you're LIGHTENING it, though, this is to be expected. Nourish it with treatments, baby it, pamper it, and be gentle with it. Be good to your locks!
Result? I was stoked! Obviously it was very subtle- but that's exactly what I wanted. Here are some pics (below) of how it turned out. I've taken them in a variety of lighting, and put some filters on so you can see the difference. I used a hair mask afterwards because I am obsessed like that, but to be honest, my hair didn't feel too bad at all! It was SP easy, and I was really happy with the colour, and the colour placement.
